Join us for the 14th Annual; Sunday 1:30 PM,
April 3, Arbutus Park Retirement Community. 207 Ottawa St. Johnstown, PA. We need help and kids as always--call JD 539-2341 or E-mail
The daffodil giveaway is in the name of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT) and in honor of JD Griffith’s daughter, Marah, who died at sixteen from CMT, Christmas Day, 2001. Marah was instrumental in the conception of children giving daffodils to seniors. Marah loved organizing the event, working with the children and she particularly enjoyed the pleasure it gave to the nursing home residents.
The 10th Annual CMT Daffodils for Seniors took place 1:00 PM Sunday, April 1st, 2007, at Laurel View Village, 2000 Cambridge Dr., Davidsville, PA. Every spring children pick, arrange and hand out thousands of daffodils, much to the delight of the residents. This years event was a success, thanks again to Louise Spiegle, who organized the staff and residents and Jeanine Mundy's work with the children. We recieved great media coverage; a nice piece in the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat, and Channel 8 (Fox) 10:00.
